Basecamp is one of those tools that I can’t live without. It allows me to manage multiple clients with multiple projects as well as manage tasks for my own remote employees. As projects are completed, they can easily be archived for later retrieval.

Client Billing – FreshBooks

FreshBooks is the easiest way to send invoices to your clients for your consulting services. Clients can login and review invoices as well as make payments online via PayPal or credit card if you have a merchant account. I’ve invoiced 1/2 a million dollars through FreshBooks in the last few years which has allowed me to focus more on my clients and less on billing.

Voicemail & Internet Fax – MaxEmail

If you need to have a public phone number that is not your personal cell phone, then MaxEmail is the service you will want to use. You can set up an account and have a new phone number provisioned and ready for use in as little as 5 minutes. The phone numbers they provide can be in your local area code or from a pool of other area codes they have access to. Phone calls to your new number are recorded and emailed to you in .wav format.
